How to Create a Relay Team

2012 Link Coming Soon

Only after the Team Captain has registered by creating a team online can the other team members complete their registrations online.

1. Team members designate a Team Captain. The creator of the team is automatically assigned as the Team Captain. Note: The Team Captain must be the ONLY person on this initial registration. Do NOT attempt to register the entire team on the Team Captain’s registration.

2. Begin the registration process by signing in or creating an account. Note: The Team Captain MUST have an account to create a team.

3. In the Team section of the registration process: Select “Yes, I want to create a new team.” Enter a team name (feel free to be creative). Select your team type. Then, enter the number of team members (you must have at least 3 and no more than 5 team members)

4. Continue with the registration and pay for your team. When completed the Confirmation screen will display.

5. The Team Captain will receive a comp code via email to distribute to the rest of the team so they can register at no cost. Note: Comp codes will be sent out every Friday for teams created each week.

How to Join a Relay Team

Once a team has been created by the Team Captain the other team members may join the team using the comp code to register at no cost.

1. Begin the registration process by signing in, creating an account or continuing as guest.

2. In the Team section of the registration process: Select “Yes, I want to Join a Team”, then select the team name your captain has already created from the menu below. This will automatically select Marathon Relay Team Entry as your event. Continue the registration process.

3. In the Promotions section of the registration process: Enter the comp code given to you by your team captain and click the “Add” button. Continue with the registration. When completed the Confirmation screen will display.

Transportation

There is no need to arrange for, schedule or reserve transportation on the buses. The marathon organizers provide transportation to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th transition areas.

Due to the close proximity of the start/finish area to the first exchange point 2nd leg runners will WALK south on Main and then West on Memorial Drive East exit from the Liberty Memorial, which is the location of the 1st exchange point.

We provide transportation to and from each of the other exchange areas, but NOT for the first exchange point. We also won't provide transportation from one exchange point to the next. Buses will be parked on Main Street west of the Westin Crown Center Hotel. They will be marked for each of the 2, 3 and 4 exchange areas. All the buses will leave the start area at 6:30 a.m

Buses will take those running the third leg to the 2nd exchange point and then later return the second leg runners back to start/finish area. Other buses take those running the fourth leg to the 3rd exchange point and then later return the third leg runners back to the start/finish area. The same goes for the fourth leg runners. Buses will stay at transition area and will begin returning when full. Buses will make multiple trips if needed.

The relay shuttles are optional but we recommend all relay teams utilize the shuttle system due to traffic issues on race day.

Finish Line Procedures

Relay members who are not running the final leg and crossing the finish line will be instructed to enter the food line from the EXIT. In other words, go around the finish line to the end of the chute. There a volunteer will let you in from the back side. Show your blue team relay bib number and you will be given a bag for food by the volunteer. DO NOT cross the finish line and enter the chute from the course side. Thanks for your cooperation!
